Magnolia-Bakery-2-3-150x150The shop has a real homely kitchen setting and its own in-store bakery too. The most popular flavour of course is Red Velvet – who knew that it is now 12 years since the Sex and the City girls visited the original store on Bleecker Street? Yep, I was surprised too.

Sprinkles2-2-150x150Founded by Candace Nelson the  judge on the Food Network show ‘Cupcake Wars’. It was a delight to see seasonal flavours, their own signature ‘flat’ frosting, doggie cupcakes (yep, I even tried them!), doggie outfits plus T-shirts for humans! Our favourites were a tie between the Red Velvet and Chocolate Marshmallow.

The-Mark-Restaurant_-Main-Dining-Room_Julie-Glassberg-150x150A mix of clientele dine here giving it an eclectic atmosphere: there were ladies lunching; business people and us en famille, so we didn’t feel at all out of place. The service was also perfect. The décor just blows you away! Contemporary black and white stripes cover the walls, the fresh fragrance wafting down from the salon upstairs is breathtaking and the dining room beyond is inviting, busy and well lit.
