Emma from Team DC went to find what Pout was all about:
No sooner was I in the door of the Pout ladies lifestyle event at Edinburgh Corn Exchange than I found something to tantalise my senses: a free hand massage at the Fake Bake beauty room. Mmmm. I sat on a little couch afterwards while I waited for my friends, munched into a free mini-Bounty bar and inhaled the tropical scent of the coconut macaroon cream. I could have stayed there all day.
Instead, once the team was gathered, we went off to explore what else this exciting event had to offer, the mouthwatering aroma from the massage still with us. The only problem was where to begin. Pout was positively overflowing with beauty, fashion and wellbeing ideas.
The first stop was to The Original Beauty Glow to get a dusting of their long lasting bronzer. My friend Susan swears by their product and says it lasts ages, so I had to have one. And, living in Scotland, who doesn’t need a bronze glow that keeps on giving?
We spun around several more stands showcasing anti-ageing products, the latest in laser innovation and creatively designed Scottish tablet. Yum! One of my favourite stands was Fashion Fixer which, building on the concepts made famous by Colour Me Beautiful in the 1980s, (ask your mum if don’t know) offers workshops on how to maximise your body shape and colouring. My friends and I have booked one in already, so watch this space for more info. I can’t wait.
Next we tripped on over to get our free goodie bags, which were spilling with hair products, lippy and even jewellery. There was also a voucher for a free G&T in there. And this was on top of the complimentary glass of Prosecco which came with the ticket purchase. So you can stop for a booze-laced afternoon tea or lunch if that’s your thing. We saw plenty of very happy people doing just that.
By mid afternoon we were ready to put our feet up so we settled in for the Debenhams fashion show, which gave us some great ideas for our Autumn wardrobe. Then, feeling rejuvenated, we checked out the stands we hadn’t seen yet, where we sampled some amazing 3D mascara and some very eye-catching eyebrow kits. Susan is now the proud owner of both and loving the look they give her and the compliments she’s getting.
Sadly, Pout only comes around once a year, but the good news is that when it does it’s a fabulous day out with loads of ideas for other exciting events and days out. It’s impossible to list every exhibitor here, but whether your thing is hair extensions, hair curlers, manicures, healthy eating, chocolate, teeth whitening or spa days, Pout has something for you. I recommend you keep a 3D lashed eye out for next year’s event.
