Scottish PA of the Year

Last week I was in Glasgow as the Keynote Speaker and Judge for the Scottish PA Network PA of the Year 2015 held in association with Hays PA & Secretarial.

A brilliant conference held at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow for over 100 PA’s and EA’s from all over Scotland. The incredible speakers were Victoria Darragh EA for Hays PA & Secretarial (also Chair and judge), Jamila Juma-Waré from Pitman Training (also judge), Lizzie Fisher from Origin Events (whose team put the event together) with a surprise team challenge from Team Challenge Company. Rosemary McLennan, Director of Scottish PA Network making up the fourth judge.

A really well put together event in a fabulous hotel. I haven’t been to Scotland in over twenty years (I know, shame on me) and it was truly brilliant to be introduced to the amazing PA/EA talent that is in Scotland.

The five finalists were so strong and it really was a battle between the four judges to put all of our points across and make a decision. There was a wonderful feeling of support from everyone there at the end of the Conference when Kelly McAulay of William Grant & Sons was announced the winner with Kawin Chau of SEC Ltd as the 2015 Runner-up.

For some who attended it was their first event and it was great to hear that they’d had such a great time that they would be looking out to go to their next, and to me, that’s what it’s all about: learning, networking and sharing.

Brilliant work Scottish PA Network and Hays PA & Secretarial for putting it all together.
