Lancaster London, a hotel overlooked Hyde Park has just launched a new Afternoon Tea. New Executive Chef Ben Purton has created a fun yet traditional Afternoon Tea with sweet treats including: White chocolate truffle and raspberry lollipops with popping candy (I LOVED these!).
I had two friends over from the US so what better way to catch up than over (a typically British) Afternoon Tea. We met in the Lancaster London Lounge Bar that is situated on the spacious first floor of the hotel. All the crockery is Wedgewood China and the tea is accompanied by mini sand-timers to make sure our tea is brewed to perfection, how great is that?
Executive Chef for Lancaster London, Ben Purton came out to chat to all the guests having tea and answered all of our questions, he was charming and the perfect host. He told us about the ‘themed’ Afternoon Teas being introduced over the course of the next year to be tied in with movie releases and London events, this sounds so much fun and a great idea if you are hosting a party.
The Afternoon Tea is served on a traditional tiered stand and the scones (plain and raisin) served warm accompanied by delicious Cornish clotted cream and hotel-made strawberry jam, mmmmm.
It was divine and really the ideal occasion to catch up with old friends.
