Review – Sorbtails at The Arch, London

Imagine this. It’s a sweltering summer day; you are looking for a refreshing drink to cool you down – perhaps something with typical summer ingredients, Pimms or gin or strawberries – and an equally cool location to drink it in. Well, you need to get yourself down to The Arch in Marble Arch and say hello to summer’s coolest new drink – the Sorbtail.

2. Cocktail Sorbets at The Arch London

The Sorbtail is a blend of sorbet and cocktail inspired by classic English Summer tipples and is exclusive to Hunter 486 at The Arch. There are three mouthwatering flavours to choose from: Pimms with fresh strawberries and cucumber; Gin and Elderflower; and a deliciously savoury Bloody Mary. Although, who says you have to choose only one. They are £7 each but also available as a sharing selection for £19.

I went for the sharing selection and have to say the Sorbtails were absolutely delicious. It was hard to choose, but I think my favourite was definitely the Gin and Elderflower, which was divine.

But if you do feel guilty about having all three Sorbtails, then…well…don’t, because the handmade refreshments are made with natural ingredients such as fresh fruit and vegetables and are low in fat and sugar. There really is nothing to feel bad about.

If the Sorbtails themselves aren’t enough to tempt you, then may I mention how lovely the setting was? The Arch London is a super-stylish design hotel in a beautiful, leafy part of London. The walls are adorned with cool statement art and there is even a custom designed Orange and Pearl fragrance infused into the atmosphere. In Hunter 486 there are quirky glass chandeliers and stylish brown studded leather sofas to complete the stylish decor. It really is a wonderfully relaxing place to get away from things and spend a few hours or more. They even do cocktail making classes in the bar. So, you could have a go at making Sorbtails yourself, if you ever got tired of sitting around drinking them. Which I can’t say I ever would.
