Hotel Review – Travelodge, Manchester

The new Travelodge in Manchester is centrally located in Piccadilly gardens – equidistant between Piccadilly station, the shopping centre and the quirky bars and restaurants of the Northern Quarter.  As such it’s ideally located for business and leisure users.

The hotel is so new the smell of freshly cut wood and new carpet hangs in the air.  The rooms are large with brand new Dreamer beds that are unbelievably comfortable, and super poufy pillows. Both the room and the bathroom were clean and fresh which is all you really want after a hard day’s work, or a hard night partying.  The only advice is to take your hairdryer – one is available on reception for a £5 deposit but if you prefer to have it on hand then pack one prior.

Breakfast was included in my stay – and it’s definitely all singing and all dancing.  Full cooked breakfasts are available as well as cereal, toast, patisseries, fruit and yoghurt. Gone are the days of breakfast in a bag!

Travelodge have learned the hard way with tough competition from Premier Inn but they really are stepping up to the mark and well worth a look, particularly if cost is important to you or your business as well as comfort.
