This luxury 5* star hotel is centrally located on London’s South Bank, which means clear views overlooking Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and the River Thames, a fantastic extra little something when hosting events in one of the 11 dedicated meeting rooms. The hotel can also create bespoke events if you’re looking for something a little different and offer first-class catering.
We had our party in Gillray’s Steakhouse and bar on the ground floor of the hotel taking full advantage of our beautiful scenic city view and sunset. Also doubles as a private dining area too sectioned off with a heavy curtain for privacy.
For those of you looking to stay a night or two here, the hotel boasts 200 generous-sized guest bedrooms and suites, all of which are air-conditioned for this early summer weather and many offering river views and balconies, perfect for enjoying those beautiful sunsets. Every room also includes Internet access, a work area and luxury bedding which looks incredibly inviting.
The traditional bar – The Leader’s Bar – is one of the highlights of the hotel, steeped in history and covered with political cartoons which are interesting to read whilst drinking a cocktail or you can sit and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in a very quiet and peaceful setting, impressive when you think that you’re right in the centre of London.
Guests can also enjoy complimentary use of the leisure club, including an indoor pool and gym and for those of you looking for a totally relaxing time, there is also a spa offering a wide range of treatments.
I can’t rate them highly enough for the attention to detail given to our event. The food was exceptional and plentiful and we were treated to such a knowledgeable chef who spoke passionately about where the food was sourced. The bar boasts a menu of 70 gins and we enjoyed several delicious gin cocktails created for the evening. The hotels generosity was overwhelming, even the goody bags were heaving with Marriott goodies.
If you’re looking for a venue with fabulous views, easy to access via London transport and attentive staff then definitely look no further than the London Marriott County Hall.
