Yay, a four-day week after a four-day weekend, how cool is that? However, I’m still catching up with myself. Being freelance doesn’t mean I can necessarily down tools and switch off for a long weekend, I try to use some of that time to catch up on things that have been sitting on my to-do list, but then again I want to do fun stuff too! So I combined them both and am writing my to-do list in bigger letters and with brighter pens by the day to torture myself, ha!
The Minx and I went to see a couple of really great Children’s theatre productions here in London – There’s a Monster in my Piano at the Little Angel Theatre in Islington – if you have small children and have never been to this tiny puppet theatre in Islington you really must try, it’s so magical and the kids are totally entranced and calling out to the puppets and discussing what is happening between themselves, it’s truly adorable. We also saw ‘Rubbish’ at the Purcell Room in the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the Southbank – it was awesome. Four performers and a huge pile of steaming binbags, which were gradually opened and the treasures inside revealed by the characters that live in this dump. The puppetry was outstanding, as were the characters, finishing with a great (very catchy!) ‘Rubbish’ song, all the kids were scrabbling around for things to put into the recycling bins afterwards – job done, well done!
We also went for brunch at the newly opened Foxcroft & Ginger in Whitechapel (see review), a very cool café with a relaxed vibe and a delicious menu. There was an Easter egg hunt in Primrose hill where local artists had been given the brief of ‘choose 1 of 12 nursery rhymes and create something’ that was then put in one of the shop windows along several streets. It was pretty cryptic at times but we managed to crack it and got all 12 on our list before the time was up and yay Minx won in the prize draw, happy days!
I’ve now realised that it’s only three weeks until I head to Auckland for the Corporate PA Summit, so workbooks and slides are being prepped (and looking at the weather so I know what to pack!); will I be lucky enough to meet any of you there?
Have a great week,
