Restaurant Review – Quantus

The word Quantus in Latin means ‘as great as’ or ‘how great’ – and how great was the meal we sampled at the Chiswick restaurant? Pretty great! Quantus serves a menu which includes Modern European Cuisine with a Latin twist on the wonderful Devonshire Road in Chiswick.

When entering the restaurant, it becomes apparent that the friendly, cosy atmosphere enables it to be a restaurant that would suit many an occasion – whether it be a family get together, a business meeting or a romantic, intimate dinner, the restaurant is the perfect place for locals to regularly dine or those are visiting the area wanting to try something different.

The restaurant launched a new lunch menu in September that includes some of the classic dishes that can be found on Quantus’s dinner menu alongside some new dishes, such as: chicken saltinbocca served with balsamic figs and wilted spinach, gambas al ajillo with sweet paprika and fennel confit and a dessert inspired by Argentian cuisine – canchera mess chocolate mousse with meringue, dulce de leche and cherries.

The dishes we tried when we went to visit the restaurant last week included the warming sweet potato soup for starters, a delicious spinach malfatti with creamy mixed mushrooms, lemon and roquette pesto and pine nuts, pumpkin spaetzle and to finish we indulged in the canchera mess chocolate mousse with meringue, dulce de leche and cherries which was rich and sweet at the same time and the amaretto roasted peaches with mascarpone, honey and rosemary syrup and almonds.

We felt welcome from the moment we set foot in the restaurant and the staff were very attentive throughout the meal, making suggestions for wine and drinks that may accompany our dishes and ensuring we were well looked after.
