Whoa, one day of sunshine and how giddy do we all get? Spray tan, pedicure and sandals and now, I hear you wonder, was it all worth it? Maybe for the next sunny day it’ll just be easier to wear a maxi skirt? Hey, it’s only April we have PLENTY of sunny days ahead.
I’ve had a great couple of weeks starting with the ‘Morning Style’ show on QVC which I was on as a stylist – affordable easy styles that look pulled together. I tried several of the outfits on from the rail, well; I want to find those easy pulled together styles too! It’s tough finding clothes out there that you know make you look great and make you feel confident when you wear them. I’m not super tall (or at all tall!), with a bust and every time II catch myself on screen it makes me groan… However, I had an appointment at Rigby and Peller – renowned for their expert bra fitting, as a student I worked in the bra department at M&S and I thought I had bra fitting down to a tee… So, 70% of women wear the wrong size bra, yup *blush * and I am one of them…
Pam, my lovely and expert ‘lingerie stylist’ looked at me (Rigby and Peller measure with the eye rather than a tape measure) – thankfully she didn’t laugh… she disappeared and came back with a handful of FANTASTIC colours, (colours aren’t just for clothing but underwear too and these were beautiful) I couldn’t try them on fast enough and seriously my shirt fitted so much better. It sounds such a cliché to spend more on lingerie than the outfit we might wear on top but I swear it makes me feel as though I’ve lost weight now that I’m finally wearing the right size bra.
Following on from that I met a fabulous dress brand Body Frock – they come with a special control lining that is attached to the dress, you shimmy into it, put the dress over the top and you’re good to go – amazing! Easy, comfortable, with fabulous styles – I’m a fan already and have a couple lined up for upcoming events – ‘Easy styles that look pulled together’ – will be my new mantra.
Work has led me to the Selfridges shoe carnival – aka shoe heaven – I love that there is an Aubaine café in the middle of it so if you start to hyperventilate over their shoes it’s so easy to fuel up and carry on shopping – they think of everything…
Had a really fun evening at the pheasantry on the kings road watching ‘An Evening with Tim Flavin’ show tunes and pizza – go on judge me… then a drool worthy night at the Anya Hindmarch Sloane Street store with Miss Jones – lots of funny pics taken, stroking of beautiful leather bags, and so much fun to hang out with other PA’s too.
The week finished with a delicious afternoon tea ‘Viva Forever’ themed at Harvey Nics before a mad dash to a client’s home to sort out their burglar alarm – zig a zig ah!
