JW Steakhouse is part of Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel. Ideally situated on Park Lane overlooking Hyde Park, in the summer you can sit in the outdoor terrace and watch Park Lane pass you by and in the winter (I was there just before Christmas) you get a fabulous view of Winter Wonderland all lit up in Hyde Park.
JW Steakhouse has firmly established itself as a leading American steakhouse in London since opening its doors in May 2010. Featuring the finest cuts of American USDA beef and select, hand-cut selections of Aberdeen Angus, JW Steakhouse is quite simply an expert in steak.
And as they call themselves – ‘Experts in Steak’ I took a steak expert with me (fortunately as I’m veggie…), he opted for the filet – a good choice he mouthed, whilst eating. I had the Goat cheese salad (nearly the pumpkin risotto as it sounded delicious but I really wanted to try the chips…), we each had chips – two portions were too much, we could have shared but they were great chips and we ate them anyway…
Dessert at our table was brownie pudding and vanilla ice cream and a round of coffees, service was impeccable and our waiter was extremely jolly and informative but without being overbearing.
Useful to know that there is also a Bourbon Bar with its own separate menu of snacks and light dishes, plus an eclectic cocktail menu including signature cocktails such as The Mint Julep, Kentucky Bourbon Sour and Mayfair Manhattan.
Also (which I am always on the hunt for) a private dining room for those more intimate private parties.
All in all a great location, friendly service and good food – a great choice for business dinners or maybe after late night shopping cocktails.
