My week – November 6th, 2012

It’s great to see some sunshine in London on an autumnal morning, there’s definitely a chill in the air and the walk to school is getting quicker (haven’t worked out if it’s because it’s cold or we leave too late…), I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year, I love the autumn colours and layering up as the temperatures drop but I have to fight myself not to turn into a hermit in the evenings and banish my social life until the clocks change again in spring…

However, I’m not quite hermit yet and have seen a few movies; The Impossible (harrowing, based on true events, great performances, traumatic to watch), Flight (remember Robert Zemeckis’ Castaway plane crash? Here’s another!) And I was lucky enough to go to the Skyfall premiere, eek. It was an incredible evening, the Royal Albert Hall is a beautiful venue and then the Tate Modern for a party for 2000 was unbelievable, Shanghai recreated in the Turbine Hall, who knew?

I did a workshop with some PA’s from Standard Bank on being a celebrity PA which was great fun, have done some more one-on-one coaching and met some very lovely PA’s, I’m proud to be part of part of this community where we all support each other to try and do the best job we can.

Squeezed in Lulu Guinness press day for SS13… ooh so many beautiful bags… the Miami theme made me want to go on a road trip across the US however North London will have to suffice for now. Had a couple of shows on QVC and I saw a friend in You Can Still Make a Killing at the Southwark Playhouse, was fab to see her back on stage again and we got a little sneak preview at the interval of Victor/Victoria, bonus!

The other exciting news is that I WON AN AWARD…I was crowned SecsintheCity Social Networking PA of the Year at The Ivy. Actually there is no crown but I do have a certificate, box of goodies and dinner for two at Malmaison. I wore a gorgeous dress by Christopher Waller and ate lots, had a few glasses of wine with all the other nominees and a very good time was had by all!

I did manage some work in between all of the socialising; including syncing iPhones, Wi-Fi printers, returning designer shoes and trying to stuff party frocks into overstuffed wardrobes. Plus trick or treating, a build a bear party and fireworks, phew!

Don’t forget it’s BBC Children in Need November 16th…
