I love any opportunity to dress to a theme and Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year to do that. With so many options; dead movie stars, horror movie stars, aliens, classics, and if you’re completely stuck just take a walk around a fancy dress shop and you’ll come out with something.
I remember at drama school always being the ‘character’ actress which pretty much meant being the ‘comedy’ character in everything, For example I have been Toto to someone else’s Dorothy, I’ve been a pumpkin… a ghost (obvs) and Janet Leigh from Hitchcock’s ‘Psycho’ (one of my personal faves…). Our local Charity shop in Dalston would get literally stripped of everything that would fit to make our costumes, not forgetting the various hardware stores for ‘accessories’. My daughter has already said she wants to trick or treat as a Mummy this year so I need to get working on my bandaging skills…
