My week – September 25th, 2012

Before the rain took over in London I managed to escape to Paris for a couple of days to attend ‘Carrefour des Assistantes’ held at the fabulous Carousel du Louvre, it’s a fair held for assistants who organize events in Europe. I *heart * Paris so any opportunity to go then I’m your girl.

I stayed at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse (bizarrely the very first hotel I stayed in in Paris fifteen years ago), easy location for the Metro, with huge conference spaces and a very good breakfast! It was a fast and furious 28 hours between getting off the Eurostar and back on again but I managed to squeeze in several meetings, a party at Palace Elysee, dinner with friends at Hotel George V, the bookshop at the Pompidou, a show around of Hotel Bel Ami, a new fashionable five star hotel, trendy yet tasteful with the most fabulous restaurant/event space I desperately wanted to see in reality after only seeing in pictures.

The hotel is situated on Saint Benoit in Saint-Germain-des-Prés where Café de Flore sits atop (yes, that was my lunch choice), it’s also my favourite arrondissement in the city to walk around *sighs *.

After all those croissants and gougéres au fromage I was greeted with a fabulous Nutrichef box when I got home. Fedex dropped a huge polystyrene box filled with fresh and frozen foods to get me back on track for the next two days. I was sampling the ‘Health and Vitality’ programme that gives around 1500 calories each day. Extremely good pricing for such great food and so much of it; soups, salads, main meals and snacks. I wasn’t hungry at all, everything was super tasty and it was oh so easy, I’d definitely try it again.

I’ve had to juggle a lot this week, when you work for several people you know there are weeks when it’s hard to make it all happen at the time they’d like it to, but I got there in the end. I had a couple of shows at QVC to fit in, plus speaking to a fabulous group of PA’s at the BDO Networking event at the Andaz Liverpool Street hotel, a family wedding and my daughter’s top two teeth falling out – a MAJOR event, even the tooth fairy has been busy flying in and out of our house this week!
